Prof. Leonel Morales

Leonel Morales was born in Cuba, became a citizen of Spain in 1991. Considered as one of the best interpreters of Beethoven.(EL PAIS-Spain).
Possibly the unique pianist worldwide that has turned interpreting during two consecutive nights the integral of the concerts for piano and orchestra of Rachmaninov including the Rhapsody on a Paganini’s Theme. Professor at the “Conservatorio Superior de Castellón”. Academic member of the “Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría”, in Seville (Spain). In October 2008, he was awarded with the prestigious prix “Tasto D’Argento 2008” (Alexandria – Italy) because of his consolidate international career, valuing also the success in his recent tour of 23 concerts on the best halls of USA, where he played the Concert n.º 1 of Tchaikovsky and the Concert n.º 3 of Rachmaninov with the Symphonic Orchestra of the state of Mexico under the conduction of Enrique Bátiz, obtaining a spectacular success. Treated by the critic, as “Hero of the day”. …
Undoubtedly Morales is a pianist of great virtuosism, trust, efficiency but of big naturality and without big gestures (CLASSICAL MUSIC REVIEW). Last March, he made a tour around Germany in auditoriums such as “Beethovensaal” in Stuttgart, “BASF-Feierabendhaus” in Ludwigshafen with the Valencia Orchestra with an excellent success playing the Concert n.º 1 of Chopin. Also here the critique catalogued him as “hero of the night”.
Morales offers Master Classes all over the world, including the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Korea, Italy, Mexico… in the USA, in the Festival Steinway of the University of Florida and Houston (Texas). He also runs successful courses in which he analyses and interprets the 32 Beethoven Sonatas. More than 50 pianists from the entire world come to his International Masterclass and Piano Festival of Granada which is celebrated on the month of July. He works as ” teacher-in-residence ” in the University of Music in San Juan – Puerto Rico, advising the department of piano and giving Master”.
